The Vibe

Set on a corner block in Melbourne’s leafy coastal suburb of Middle Park, Panorama House strengthens the contemporary home’s multiple view lines across the bay and city, while celebrating the playful personalities of the homeowners – a young family of four.

Completed: 2024
Location: Middle Park, Melbourne
Size: 760m2
Builder: Visioneer

Photography: Sean Fennessy
Team: Sally, Angus, Casey & Mary

We increased the kitchen’s footprint to create a stronger relationship to the water. A sculpted island bench, crafted from solid blocks of Arebescato, Brescia Green and Menta marble, demanded expert stonemasonry, a robust steel framework, and precise craning into place, producing a striking and technical triumph for the project. The resulting assemblage holds a monastic presence, complemented by hand-finished stainless-steel cabinetry with inset bronze finger pulls.

The dining space nestles neatly into the northern edge of the home, crafting a private, urban setting bathed in warm, natural light, complete with a hidden bar to enjoy a drink in the sun.

Throughout, Panorama House is overlaid with a unique selection of furniture and art, including bespoke items from our Collection. A series of Lunetta stools are featured in the kitchen, whilst “Albert” from our Odyssey Collection anchors the main living space.

The dramatic colour in the entry is offset with a neutral palette in the laundry

On the ground floor, a television room and kitchenette were removed to form an open rumpus and music room. A structural column, revealed during demolition, was thoughtfully shrouded in polished stainless steel, drawing water reflections into the interior, while a pebble-shaped silk rug grounds a striking Boa Sofa by Italian furniture brand Edra, its woven form presenting an upholstered ‘nest’ to sit, perch or recline. Beside, a bespoke pool table, doubling as a ping-pong table, is finished in sea green lacquer with a tan baize and leather net, harmonising with the Calacatta Romano-lined bar, dramatically book-ended by nib walls clad in bronze tinted mirror.

FROM OUR CLIENTS..

Our family recently had the pleasure of working with Sally Caroline on a complete renovation of our home, and I cannot express how thrilled I am with the result. From the very first consultation, it was clear that the team at SC possessed an extraordinary talent for design and an incredible understanding of my vision.
The SC team guided me through every step of the process with professionalism and creativity, transforming each space into a breathtaking masterpiece. The attention to detail is remarkable—every room feels thoughtfully curated, reflecting both elegance and comfort. They skilfully blended modern aesthetics with timeless charm, creating a harmonious flow throughout the home.
What truly stood out was the team’s attention to detail, the ability to listen and adapt to my preferences while also offering innovative suggestions that enhanced the overall design. The use of colour, texture, and lighting was simply outstanding, resulting in spaces that are not only beautiful but also functional.
The project was completed on time and within budget, which is a testament to Sally Caroline’s exceptional project management skills. They maintained clear communication throughout, ensuring that I was always in the loop and comfortable with every decision.
