Belonging to a family of five and their beloved furry friend, this generously proportioned inner-city apartment perches high in the heart of Melbourne. The family sought a “home away from home” that would serve as a convenient city retreat, while also comfortably accommodating guests visiting from interstate or overseas.

The four bedroom and bathroom residence occupies the entire top floor of the luxury apartment building. It’s sky-high location enables spectacular uninterrupted 360 degree views over the city, lush Treasury and Fitzroy gardens, and beyond.
Tasked with injecting our clients’ personality into the refined and neutral palette inherited from Bates Smart, we curated a playful and elevated collection of furniture, art and objects.
Both formal and informal lounges, as well as the master bedroom were redesigned to include bespoke joinery elements – cleverly concealing televisions, adding a secret party cabinet and creating that perfect bedroom sanctuary.
The family envisaged a home that could be easily opened up to close family and friends, offering a unique and memorable dinner party location. The solid timber dining table, anchored by floating cloud-like pendants, is positioned to take full advantage of the floor-to-ceiling glass façades, allowing guests to take in the incredible views from every angle. Additionally, a carefully considered bar has been integrated into the central living room joinery, ensuring a seamless transition for guests to retreat to the relaxed lounge area adjacent to the dining room post-dinner.
Located seemingly up in the clouds, the master bedroom serves as an idyllic retreat. Minimalist reading lamps in bronze are pinned above the bedside drawers of the charred oak bedhead.
