This iconic beachfront property, set within sprawling gardens that spill onto the sand, is being renovated in stages. While the owners may share the view of the sea with neighbours, inside, this is a very private place for family holidays. Room for the kids to sprawl toys and play, room for the grown-ups to stretch out and defrost. Their very own slice of the Golden Coast.

The priceless locale comes with a genuine design challenge. Waking up to the beautiful sounds of lapping waves is peaceful; repairing corrosion from salt spray is a drag. Choosing the right materials is an essential consideration that informed our design. It doesn’t sound sexy, but what is sexy is kicking it on holiday not having to worry about a thing.
This pad is straight up luxury at its finest. No detail overlooked, no compromises whatsoever. Another careful consideration with such a brief: restraint where restraint is due. Materials form a deluxe, but always thoughtful, palette. Limestone slabs line bathroom walls and travels continuously, harmoniously over the floors in a detailed pattern. Motorised linen curtains reveal spectacular sunrises with the flick of a switch.
Furniture is placed for comfort and conversation. A central sunken lounge within a grand, light-filled atrium is the home’s focal point. From here, open yet distinct zones flow from each side and up to the next level. But really, the scene-stealer is the direct view of the ocean, skimming across the pool and out to the horizon.
The next phase of this family getaway home is still in the works.
