Care & Maintenance

The SC Rug Collection has been developed with longevity in mind. We have intentionally sourced durable material compositions however care is always needed.

New rugs will shed minimally over the first 10-12 weeks in place.

Subtle variations in colour can be expected. To prevent fading, it is advisable to minimise prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

To keep your rug looking its best, we recommend regular vacuuming, ensuring you move in one direction with gentle suction power and without a rotating head. Preserve the rug’s allure by occasionally rotating it to prevent uneven fading or wear, swiftly attending to spills with a damp cloth. Steer clear of harsh chemicals, and entrust larger stains to professional cleaning experts.

As all SC Collection pieces are made to order, returns or refunds will only be accepted if the product is defective or has arrived not as described. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns due to change of mind.

THE BRIEF

The Odyssey Series draws inspiration from Founder and Director, Sally Knibbs’ formative years living and working in creative cities such as Milan, Hamburg, London, Copenhagen and Melbourne. Recognising the impact of these experiences on her life and practice, each rug design blends elements of memory, material, place and culture, celebrates personal narratives and Sally’s worldly approach to design.

Quality Materials

The Odyssey Series’ yarn composition was rigorously tested to meet Sally’s exacting standards of quality and longevity. Each rug employs durable, quality yarns—100-percent New Zealand wool, 100-percent bamboo silk and silk-look nylon—to withstand use in residential and commercial settings. The hand-knotted designs offer premium longevity, often lasting generations as cherished family heirlooms.

Colour Stories

With endless yarn colour options, Sally Caroline has meticulously curated a series of captivating colour stories to guide selections: Ecru, Caramele, Macaron, Sundown and Clover. Thorough sampling, custom dying and prototyping was required to perfect each story and create a distinct mood, from calm and earthy to fresh and youthful, adapting the rug’s expression to suit a multitude of interior settings.
